Autograph.io currently supports bridging between the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains, allowing you to send your digital collectibles from one to the other (and in either direction).
The Bridging feature is early release software, and is therefore not perfect. We welcome feedback and you can contact us at email@example.com.
Before you start, you will need:
- An EVM-compatible wallet that holds the collectible you want to bridge
- Ethereum (ETH) or Polygon (MATIC) tokens to cover gas fees
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to bridge a collectible from Ethereum to Polygon:
Log in to Autograph.io and ensure your self-custody wallet is connected to Autograph.io. Autograph.io will ask you to connect your wallet and select the correct network if needed
Navigate to your profile page to view your collection, find the collectible you want to transfer, click/tap the ellipsis (“...”) button in its menu, and then select “Bridge.”
Select the target/destination blockchain where you would like to send your collectible, and then “Approve” this step.
Your self-custody wallet will then ask you to confirm a transaction granting the smart contract permission to access your collectible. There is a gas fee required for this transaction. This specific step is only required once.
After this initial transaction has completed—which can take a few moments, depending on the blockchain’s network congestion—Autograph.io will update and ask you to “Approve” which you must select in order to proceed.
Your self-custody wallet will then ask you to confirm a new transaction to execute the bridging process for that collectible. There is a gas fee required to process this transaction.
Wait for bridging to complete. The speed of this bridging process will depend on network congestion at that time.
Upon the transaction’s success, your collectible will have been bridged from one blockchain to the other, and the collectible’s detail page will update with its new location accordingly. You can also select “View Contract” to see the on-chain record of the transaction.
If you’d like, you can always transfer your collectible back to its original blockchain by repeating this process. (Step 4 will not be required in this case.)
Which NFTs can I bridge?
We are launching bridging using a phased approach. The following collectible will be bridgeable with more collectibles from the wider Autograph collection coming soon.
Username NFTs, and soul-bound proof of attendance NFTs will not be bridgeable.
This feature is being offered as a Beta Feature under Section 7.6 of the Autograph Terms of Service
