Similar to physical collectibles, digital collectibles are individual assets (such as images, videos, and more) that can be acquired, transferred, and traded between different owners online. This activity is recorded on a public ledger called a blockchain, which records the ownership of these assets. As non-fungible tokens (NFTs), these collectibles can be verified for uniqueness and publicly attributed to their creator and their current owner, who may choose to store them in a self-custody wallet for greater control.
